28 week Bumpdate: Welcome to Third Trimester!

I can't believe how fast this all is going. Second trimester held a lot of fun and a ton of changes for our family. But let's just take a moment and appreciate how much this little baby and tummy have grown:

13 weeks- when I thought my bump was so obvious ;)
28 weeks big :)

Day to day, it's hard to see the changes. But the side by side pictures sure help!
Second trimester highlights:
- Moving home to Salem!
- Finding our awesome birth team at Belle Vie
- Finding out we are having a little girl and picking out her name!
- Joseph feeling her move for the first time
- Picking out a nursery theme/colors and getting to start that in my brain
- Moving into our perfect, God-given apartment and starting to nest

Praise be to God for the simplicity that this trimester has held. We are so amazed and awe struck at all of what is coming to be this year for all 3 of us.

This week..
Total Weight Gain: We'll have to check in next week when I actually get batteries for our scale..
Symptoms: My lower back is getting more achy. And I'm pretty sure my hips are getting wider.. Making room for baby!
Size of the baby:  14.5 " long and 2.2 lbs. Baby E's immune system is ramping up to take on this world, along with her lungs being basically developed. Also, she's putting on a fat layer.. which may explain the specificity of my cravings?
Sleep: I've needed a lot of it this week.
Best Moment Last Week: Moving into our place! It is so darling, and I cannot describe how good it feels to have a little place of our own. :)
Movement: Still going strong.

Cravings: Everything! It has been a seriously hungry week. Would love lots of cream based or cheese based things (Soups, casseroles, queso, etc). And muffins and scones. But, still cruising on with healthy choices and just a few of those cravings inter-dispersed here and there :)

But seriously, how does everything in the world taste SO GOOD?! (eating the most flavorful frozen blueberries as I type)
What I Miss: Cool weather.
What am I looking forward to: An afternoon on the water tomorrow. Sunshine, boating, and wind = summer perfection.
Milestones: It's official. None of my non maternity clothes fit. Either circumference or length or both. When I realized this Friday morning, I had a moment of panic. Not just 4 weeks ago I told Joseph that I thought I could make it through until October and probably the whole pregnancy without any more clothes. I hadn't budgeted for just how much my tummy would change.

But God is so good! He knows our needs before we do. That same afternoon I went to see a friend for a visit and she asked if I wanted to borrow some of her maternity clothes. I came home with a whole new wardrobe! Thank you Sarah!

How is Daddy? Out on a solo backpacking night tonight. Got to get them in before the weather gets too cold!

27 week Bumpdate

Total Weight Gain: 14 lbs
Symptoms: Learning how to be nice to my legs with the vein situation. It's a balance of sitting and moving, which I realize sounds hilariously simple.
Two growing girls!
Size of the baby: 14 inches and 2 lbs! And apparently the size of a rutabaga..
Sleep: Oh my word, Sleep, I love you so much. Let's be friends forever even though E wakes me up with all her rocking and rolling in there.
Best Moment Last Week: Getting our keys to our apartment! And picking some paint :) Can't wait to share pictures!
Movement: Less sharp this week, but definitely becoming more nocturnal..
Cravings: I am eating soup right now. It's 80 degrees outside.
On a more interesting note- Coffee. No joke. From the girl who has never liked it, this was a surprise. Between the newly delicious taste and necessary pick me up, it might become a new favorite.
What I Miss: Waking up early and feeling rested. I'm more of a night owl and late up kind of person now.
What am I looking forward to: Painting some walls tonight, unpacking and beginning to nest a bit!!
Milestones: Bought some of E's first diapers! Seriously, all the mommy resale Facebook pages are amazing. And cloth diapers that no one used at a great deal- so thankful for this find!

How is Daddy? So sweet. He's doing a good job of remembering I'm working hard growing this person all the time as well as keeping our life playful and fun. Might as well enjoy the time while it's just the two of us!

26 Week Bumpdate

Total Weight Gain: 13 lbs
Symptoms: The cramps foot and calf are getting better- thankfully!
On a less than exciting note, it looks like I probably have developed some varicose veins. With the way my symptoms were linning up, I had a trip to the Emergency room today to make sure there wasn't a blood clot (all clear- Praise God!). I'll be trying a few different things this week to see if the uncomfotableness/pain can be managed.
Size of the baby: About 14 inches and a pound and a half.
Sleep: Sleep is amazing and I've been really tired this week. I seem to need about 8.5-9 hrs a night plus naps!
Best Moment Last Week: Our 3 year anniversary! It was such a blast to think back on all that we've gone through and enjoyed this past year as well as dreaming about what this next year is going to look like. Joseph and I went to the coast and had a whole day of sunshine, wind, Tillamook cheese, and together time :)
Movement: Evelyn is moving a ton! She even kicked for my mom!
Cravings: This week there's something new- Coffee. Never before has this tasted good really at all. Not only do I enjoy it but I look forward to it! lol. Keeping it low consumption as well as morning time.
What I Miss:  Cool weather. I am so looking forward to boots and sweater weather this fall!
What am I looking forward to: Moving into our own place! Hoping this week is the week :)
Milestones: Can't believe we're almost done with the 2nd trimester..

How is Daddy? A quarter of a century old! Happy 25th birthday last week to Joseph!

25 Week Bumpdate

25 weeks + 3 days
Total Weight Gain: 11 lbs
Symptoms: 1) Not as easily energized as I was before. I'm not sure if it's the heat or getting close to that third trimester or a combo of both. 2) Getting some sweet cramps in the arches of my feet while I sleep. 3) Ankle swelling is off and on. Because nothing makes you feel more beautiful than looking down to find cankles in the late afternoon. Yeah buddy.
Size of the baby: 13.5 inches and now a pound and a half.
Sleep: I'm becoming progressively more of a side sleeper.
Best Moment Last Week: Putting an application in on an apartment. Whether it's this one or another, we will be in our own place very soon :)
Movement: Evelyn moved for her uncle Zach, but still has been a touch shy for anyone else.
Cravings: Fruit (peaches and blackberries). Soup. The usual.
What I Miss: Being able to watch a whole movie without needing to get up a walk around. My legs get a bit tingly after too much stillness.
What am I looking forward to: Taking my mom to hear little girl's heartbeat later this week at my midwife appointment.
Milestones: Registry? Done. Feels good to have a good mental guide for myself :) (Shameless plug, if you want to peak at it- we're registered at Target!)

How is Daddy? Adorable
